It's not that he doesn't love the forrests but the flame is so beautiful and contains so much power. Holocaust is partway to obtaining his goal. He has managed to attract the attention of the God of Flame Ohen (yeah it's not the best name for a fire god but we haven't thought of a better one yet.) who has made him an Agent, to be sent where ever the flame is being persicuted.

We are test playing a new RPG created by Alan called the My Lord Scoundrel
RPG whose rules
are being created as we play. Alan says that he named My Lord Scoundrel
on the basis that player characters are always scoundrels, even when they
are heroes, and generally seek immense wealth and power, after which they
may be called My Lord Scoundrel.
